About Us

The Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC), a coalition of chief executives from all disciplines within the healthcare system, launched Medicare Today in November 2004 to reach out to Medicare beneficiaries who needed reliable information on how to get the greatest value from the new Medicare benefits provided by the Medicare Modernization Act (MMA) of 2003. Almost twenty years later, Medicare Today and our sister website, www.seniorsspeakout.org, continue to ensure beneficiaries have the resources they need to obtain healthcare and prescription medications.

Additionally, Medicare Today is dedicated to ensuring beneficiaries’ access is protected and the program preserved for many years to come. We convene and educate other healthcare stakeholders, including consumer, patient, advocate, employer, and provider groups, to build an informal coalition of partners united in our cause to safeguard this critical program from harmful changes.
